A man was arrested for abusing a 7-week-old baby because she didn’t stop crying.

The man was watching the “Jerry Springer Show,” when the baby began to cry.

Rather than comforting the baby, Julian Anderson, 25, of Illinois, placed his hand over her mouth and abused her.

Anderson has been charged with wounding the baby, who is his relative.

Aurora Police charged Anderson with felony domestic battery, aggravated battery, domestic battery, child endangerment and obstructing police.

Doctors at a hospital contacted police after Anderson took the child to the emergency room for persistent fever.

Doctors noticed signs of abuse on the face and back of the girl, police said.

During the investigation, police learned that Anderson grabbed the baby’s face, squeezed her cheeks and put one hand over her mouth because she refused to stop crying.

The girl’s injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

The charge of obstruction of justice came after Anderson allegedly lied about his identity during the investigation in an apparent attempt to avoid being arrested on two warrants.

He had multiple outstanding warrants for domestic battery and burglary, police said.
