(Scroll down for video) A prankster called employees of a Circle K store and persuaded them to destroy it.

Somehow, the two employees did not realize that it was a prank call until major damage was caused.

The Circle K store in Globe, Arizona, was severely damaged, including broken windows and destroyed merchandise.

Police said that the prankster called the employees, claiming to be a security company for Circle K.

The prankster claimed that a silent fire alarm had gone off and he instructed the employees to do things to stop the alarm.

First he ordered the employees to discharged the fire extinguishers inside the store. The employees complied and ruined merchandise while doing so. Customers watched in horror as the employees followed the instructions given to them by phone.

The caller then went on to tell the workers to throw the extinguishers through the glass windows of the store, which they did.

“Finally they were ordered to break the store’s computers. That is when the light bulb went off and the employees realized that this was a prank call,” Globe Police Chief Tim Truett said.

Police are investigating the prank and are trying to trace the phone call in hopes of finding the person who made the call.

The store is now boarded up, but it is open for business. It is unclear whether the two store employees kept their jobs.

It is hard to understand how the store employees fell for the prank, but so far, they were not charged with vandalism.

“You want to hesitate before you make gullibility a crime,” Tim Truett.
