Grandmother beaten by police officer for bringing cupcakes to her grandchildren (video)

(Scroll down for video) A grandmother filed a lawsuit against the police after being beaten for bringing cupcakes to her grandchildren, according to court documents filed in California.

78-year-old Mary Poole is recovering from injuries after suffering a brutal attack at her grandchildren’s school.

Poole said that she spent $180,000 on medical bills after suffering a dislocated shoulder and fracture. She was also pepper sprayed in the face twice.

Poole is claiming compensation on charges of excessive force, elder abuse, assault and false imprisonment. According to Poole, she had not seen her grandchildren for some time, and wanted to see them.

She baked some cupcakes and bought some cookies, and brought the to the classroom. However, a police officer stopped her, saying that she had a restraining order against her.

Poole said that she tried to explain, but the officer sprayed her in the face with pepper spray twice and threw her to the floor. Poole was not arrested, and there was no restraining order against her.
