(Scroll down for video) The parents of a 10-year-old boy are angry after he was arrested and held in jail over the weekend.

10-year-old Preston Johnson was arrested and placed in juvenile detention after being arrested over a dispute with a neighbor’s child.

The boy’s mother, April Johnson, said that Highland Village Police asked them to bring the child to the police station. She and her husband thought they were taking their son for questioning.

However, police said that they have a warrant for the boy’s arrest. The boy was separated from his parents. He was given a prison jumpsuit and he was treated like a common criminal.

Johnson said that after they were told about the warrant, they got into a state of panic. Officers then told them that it was because the parents were so upset that they decided to take the boy into custody.

April Johnson said that her son began to cry when she and her husband were forced to leave the police station.

Since the arrest occurred late on Friday afternoon, Johnson’s son was forced to spend the whole weekend in jail.

The boy’s neighbor reportedly said that they had an ongoing problem with Preston Johnson before they filed a police complaint.
