(Scroll down for video) A man is devastated after his expensive engagement ring was stolen during a traffic stop.
Police on Georgia, released a video of the traffic stop during which officer Justin Manwaring was accused of stealing the engagement ring.
The Douglasville Police Department investigated Manwaring after Timothy Brown filed a complaint over the missing ring.
The officer claimed that he never saw a ring. However, in the video of the traffic stop, the officer was heard talking to his colleague about the ring before it went missing.
“Oh, this dude was getting married to somebody. It’s an engagement ring,” Manwaring said while manhandling the suspect.
Officer Manwaring agreed to take a lie detector test to prove that he did not steal the engagement ring, but he failed, police said.
Despite the evidence, the officer was cleared of wrongdoing. Investigators said there was no video evidence of the ring being taken from the scene.
Kenneth Muhammad, Brown’s attorney, wants the officer to go through the court system like everyone else.
Officer Manwaring was allowed back on the job after investigators cleared him of any wrongdoing.
