A human rights chief was arrested on charges of prostitution after allegedly running a prostitution ring, police in Japan said.
Ibaraki Police said that they arrested 61-year-old Masaya Suzuki, after being accused of forcing an 18-year-old woman to work as a prostitute.
According to the police investigation, Suzuki managed Celebrity Mistress, an escort service company, along with 22-year-old Soichiro Hatsuzawa.
The woman told investigators that she was forced to have sex with over 60 men in a short period of time.
Suzuki also serves as the chairman of the Ibaraki Human Rights Protection Support Association, which helps the poor and destitute, including children and foreigners living in the country.
Suzuki has denied the allegations. Police have taken the woman into protective custody. Celebrity Mistress sends prostitutes to have sex with men at hotels and private homes.
According to the company website, prices start at 15,000 yen ($125) for the first 80 minutes.
