A teen was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly attacking his girlfriend while she was driving, police in Florida said.
Palm Beach County Police said that they have arrested 19-year-old Daniel Hitt, after he was accused of spitting at his girlfriend while she was driving her car.
Hitt was also accused of damaging her car by kicking it.
Hitt faces charges of assault, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest with violence, simple assault, intent or threat to do violence, disorderly intoxication and two counts of criminal mischief between $200 and $1,000.
Hitt was booked into the Palm Beach County jail, and his bail was set at $6,000 bail.
According to the police investigation, the woman told police that Hitt rubbed hand sanitizer into her eyes as she drove her car.
Hitt then kicked two air conditioning vents in the car, damaging both. When the couple arrived at their destination, Hitt threw the woman against the car and spit in her face.
Hitt ripped off the woman’s shirt hit her in the shoulder and then kicked the car. Police said that they smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Hitt’s mouth.
When police tried to arrest Hitt, he spit in the face of an officer and then tried to kick out the windows of a patrol car.
