A man was chopped up by his own son because he didn’t allow him to join a terror group, police in Nigeria said.

Anambra State Police said that they arrested 32-year-old Chinedu Emmanuel Nnalue, after being accused of killing 59-year-old Nwafor Nnalue.

According to the police investigation, Chinedu pressured his father to allow him to move back to his hometown, but he refused after learning that his son wanted to join the Boko Haram terror group.

According to the police investigation, Nwafor and his family lived in Damaturu, until they were forced to move away as a result of the Boko Haram insurgency.

Chinedu converted to Islam, married a woman and had two children with her. When the family moved Chinedu’s wife refused to join them and stayed behind with her children.

Chinedu continuously pressured his father to allow him to move back to their hometown because he misses his wife and children, but he refused.

On the day of the murder, Chinedu waited for his mother and sister to go to the farm before attacking his father with a machete.

During questioning, Chinedu told police that he had no choice but to kill his father.
