(Scroll down for video) A woman was given a long prison term after setting her pet shop on fire with 27 animals inside.
Gloria Eun Hye Lee, 36, of Nevada, pleaded guilty to arson, insurance fraud and attempted animal cruelty after setting her pet shop on fire.
The former Las Vegas pet shop owner was caught on surveillance video setting her business on fire with 25 puppies and 2 dogs in their kennels.
She is accused of setting her Prince and Princess pet store on fire to collect money from insurance.
Rescue workers were able to save the animals. They were placed in a shelter before being auctioned off at $250 a piece to raise money for the shelter.
Before sentencing, Lee told the judge that she was
three months pregnant.
Clark County District Court Judge David Barker said that he thought Lee was using her pregnancy to try to get a lesser sentence.
Prosecutor Shano Clowers accused Lee of using her pregnancy in a manipulative attempt as a “get-out-of-jail-free card.”
However, the judge did not take her pregnancy into consideration and sentenced her to up to 14 years in prison.
