Man stabs his girlfriend 13 times because she served him cold dinner

(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on charges of assault after stabbing his girlfriend multiple times because she served him a cold meal, police in West Virginia said.

Kanawha County Police said that they arrested 36-year-old Michael Keeney of Cabin Creek, after being accused of stabbing his girlfriend 13 times.

Keeney was charged with 13 counts of malicious assault or battery, according to a criminal complaint filed at the Kanawha County Magistrate’s Court.

According to the police investigation, officers responded to scene of a stabbing around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. Police officers found Keeney’s girlfriend with 13 stab wounds in her hand.

The victim first told officers that she fell on the ice outside her house, but later admitted that she and Keeney had gotten into an argument because the food was cold.

The victim told officers that Keeney stabbed her with a kitchen knife and hit her in the hand with a hammer. Keeney was booked into the South Central Regional Jail, and his bail was set at $5,000.
