(Scroll down for video) A man who was caught eating fish alive, was ordered to stay away from fish for the next 5 years, prosecutors in the United Kingdom said.
36-year-old Luke Berry of Oxford, recorded a video, which showed him swallowing a goldfish alive.
He pleaded guilty at the Oxford Magistrate’s Court for causing unnecessary suffering to an animal. Berry was banned from owning fish for five years, and was ordered to perform 120 hours of community service.
He was fined $768. The court heard that Berry swallowed the fish as part of a Neknominate drinking game that went viral on the Internet.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) pressed charges against Berry.
