A married businessman was found guilty of assaulting his mistress.

John Crawford Florey, 48, was having an affair with an intern for almost a year.

The couple had rented an apartment in Notting Hill, London, where they would often hang out and have sex.

One night after having dinner together, the couple returned to the apartment and the businessman stripped off his underwear, the Isleworth Crown Court heard.

However, his mistress, Olga Grigorash, 40, of Russia, refused to undress and rejected his advances.

Florey flew into a fit of rage and kicked the woman off the bed with such force that she fell and broke her wrist.

A judge said that the businessman showed “no remorse or concern” and refused to help his lover, who was forced to make her own way to a hospital for treatment.

Florey was sentenced to serve 18 months in prison for grievous bodily harm and he was handed a restraining order prohibiting him from having contact with Grigorash.

He was also ordered to pay 6,000 pounds (about $9,200) compensation to the victim and court costs.
