(Scroll down for video) A man who posed as an Amazon executive, lured a teen into his car by promising her a job, police in California said.
The Chino Hills Police Department said that they arrested 22-year-old Aaron Misael Vera Viteri, after being accused of using a mobile phone application to contact the 18-year-old woman.
Viteri falsely presented himself as an employer at Amazon to her, according to police. Under the pseudonym Jay Delgado, the suspect sent a message to the victim about a possible job at a warehouse.
The two had set up a meeting at a Subway restaurant, but by the time they met in person, Viteri told her that he wanted to go to Wendy’s instead.
Shortly after the victim got into his car, Viteri took away her phone. The woman then realized that the man was driving the opposite direction of Wendy’s and she panicked.
A brief struggle ensued inside the car, but she was able to open the door and jump out of the vehicle. She immediately alerted the police.
Viteri was arrested and booked on multiple charges, including kidnapping, according to police.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that the suspect had multiple profiles on social media sites, plus documents with names of other women, prompting concern that there may be more victims.
