A man who was detained for public intoxication, rolled in dog feces in order to avoid being handcuffed by police officers, police in Pennsylvania said.

Wilkes-Barre Police officers who were on patrol in the area of Academy Street and Carey Avenue around 6:00 p.m. on Monday, said that they saw 45-year-old Maurice Franklin, jump from the curb and into moving vehicles.

The officers spoke with Franklin and found that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Franklin had difficulty speaking and could not stand without swaying.

As officers spoke to Franklin, he told them that he was walking around dog feces on the sidewalk. Franklin was advised that he was under arrest and was told to put his hands behind his back.

At that time, Franklin fell down and started rolling in the dog feces. He then triumphantly declared that officers could not arrested him because he was covered in s***.

Franklin was taken into custody and held until he became sober.
