Teen swallows stolen cremated remains after mistaking it for cocaine

(Scroll down for video) A teen was horrified to learn that he swallowed cremated remains rather than cocaine, police in Missouri said.

St. Peters Police said that a group of teens broke into a home and they thought that they scored a box of cocaine.

The three boys also stole jewelry, cash, electronics and prescription drugs.

It was not until one of the teenagers tried the white powder that they realized the wooden box did not contain drugs, but the cremated remains of the homeowner’s father.

17-year-old Devin Gesell told investigators that they threw the remains out of their car when the realized it wasn’t drugs. Gesell and his two accomplices, 15 and 16 years old, were arrested on charges of burglary.

The teens are being tried as minors and Gesell has confessed to the theft, stating that he worked as a lookout while the other two stole $825 in cash and valuables worth about $2,000.
