People are abandoning a public swimming pool in New Zealand, after human feces were found in the water for the past five weeks.
The manager of the Invercargill’s Splash Palace, said that the facility has lost thousands of dollars as a result of the feces incidents.
According to the police investigation, the incidents usually occurs after 5:00 p.m. on Friday night. Whenever feces is discovered, the pool has to be shut down for about six hours for cleaning.
Witnesses said that feces were found in all three pools in the facility, which include an adult pool and children’s pool and a learner’s pool.
It appears that the vandalism is being done deliberately.
Meanwhile, officials have placed signs, warning swimmers to stay out of the water if they are suffering from an upset stomach.
