A thief was rushed to a hospital after being hit by a bus moments after stealing a bicycle, police in Scotland said.
Edinburgh Police said that the incident unfolded when the 42-year-old man decided to steal the bike that was parked outside a shop.
Police and paramedics were called to the intersection of Nicolson Street and West Nicolson Street, around 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, after the thief collided with a bus while riding the stolen bike.
The thief was rushed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment of injuries. After being released, the man was charged with one count of theft.
In December, several thieves were killed after they were struck by lightning while fleeing from a church. The incident unfolded when their getaway car was speeding down a road, while leading police on a high-speed chase.
The group of men stole cash from a church in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Tuesday. However, the chase ended when lightning destroyed the vehicle and killed all the passengers inside.
According to police, another car was also damaged after hitting the getaway vehicle. The footage was recorded by a police dashcam video.
