(Scroll down for video) A couple was hospitalized after they were set on fire by their landlord.
The homeowner is accused of spraying a couple of his tenants with lighter fluid and setting them on fire.
Police said that Kurt Dozier, 57, of Mississippi, confronted the married couple with a firearm at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Dozier then allegedly poured lighter fluid on Tommy and Benita Bonds, who rented a house from him in Marshall County, Byhalia, and set them on fire.
The couple was rushed to a hospital. The man was released from the hospital after being treated. However, his wife was not so fortunate.
The woman suffered severe burns and is still being treated at the hospital.
Authorities arrested Dozier, who also had severe burns on his hands. Investigators said that he suffered burns while setting his victims on fire.
According to the incident report, Dozier began shouting “I am sorry” after setting the couple on fire. Deputies said that Dozier also cried. “My life is over, I did not mean to do it, I might as well kill myself,” he said.
Dozier was arrested Sunday night, after being found hiding in a bedroom closet at his home.
He faces two counts of attempted murder.
