Police are looking to arrest a thief on charges of theft after allegedly stealing an eye from an Army veteran, police in New York said.

Boonville Police said the veteran’s eye prosthesis has been stolen from his car.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said that the eye was stolen on Saturday. The eye was left in a small black bag inside the car.

The vehicle was parked outside a supermarket. Police say the eye prosthesis is worth over $2,000. Most people were outraged after learning about the theft.

“Why would someone be so heartless, and on another note, why did he leave his eye in the car? I would want to take my eye with me,” Tami Maro wrote.

On a lighter note, Earl Broussard said that he “didn’t see” that coming.
