(Scroll down for video) A woman was arrested on charges of attempted murder after she allegedly tried to run over a man because he refused to pay for a piece of cake, police in South Carolina said.
Myrtle Beach Police said that they arrested 34-year-old Amy Joe Derepentigny, in connection with the attempted murder and unlawful conduct toward a child on Wednesday.
Police were called around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, to the 400 block of 28th Avenue North, in an incident involving a car accident.
An investigation revealed that Derepentigny and the victim of the alleged murder attempt had argued at a local gas station about not having enough money for a cinnamon bun.
At some point, the victim was standing near the suspect’s car. That is when Derepentigny accelerated rapidly towards the victim and tried to hit him with her Ford Expedition.
There was a 13-year-old child in the front seat of the car during the incident. Luckily, Derepentigny missed her target and crashed into a fence.
