A mother-in-law wanted her son’s wife dead because she got fed up with her jokes.

Tatiana Kudinova, 50, of Russia, was sentenced to prison after trying to hire a gang to kill her daughter-in-law.

Kudinova told police that her daughter-in-law, Roxanne, 30, kept mocking the fact that she was not well off, and decided that she wanted her dead.

However, the man who was paid to kill her daughter-in-law turned out to be an undercover officer.

Kudinova said that she had a fallout with Roxanne after a party when the two began arguing over who should pay for food for the guests.

After this argument, she said that Roxanne kept making jokes about that fact her being stingy, which irritated her.

Kudinova of Rostov, contacted a gang thugs, offering them about $1,700 to kill Roxanne.

What she did not know was that the man whom she paid a deposit of a $900 was actually an undercover police officer.

The officers then devised an elaborate plan to get the woman arrested for attempted murder.

A police spokesperson said: ‘We had to catch her in the act of paying for murder and the deposit was not enough.”

Officer then contacted the daughter-in-law and organized for her to play dead. She was covered in fake blood and officer took pictures to convince the woman that the murder had taken place.

Kudinova was arrested after handing over the remaining money to the undercover agent.

In court, the judge told Kudinova: “You are an evil woman who sought to destroy someone’s life and ruin the happiness of your son all because of a few jokes.”

Kudinova was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
