(Scroll down for video) Instead of being the best day of her life, the bride ended up in prison.
31-year-old Christina George of Pennsylvania, went to a bar with her new husband and family members to celebrate their marriage.
Police said that when the bride and groom left the Jimmy K’s Bar and Grille in New Brighton about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh, they got into an argument over who should drive home.
Both were intoxicated at the time. The bride said that she saw a gun in the glove compartment of her husband’s car and she wanted to put it in a safer place.
As she grabbed the gun, it went off and hit her niece, 21-year-old Katelyn Francisco Fairmont of West Virginia, who was standing outside the car.
George of Patterson Township, has been convicted of manslaughter and reckless conduct in the shooting death of her niece, hours after her wedding ceremony.
George cried as she was led back to prison after a judge revoked her bail. Her family and friends also cried as she was led out of the room to be held in the Beaver County jail awaiting sentencing.
George is facing 5 to 10 years in prison.
