(Scroll down for video) A mother and her 12-year-old son were shot after they laughed at strangers who were in a passing car.
Police in California, said that a man opened fire on a woman and her 12-year-old boy after the boy pointed at the man whose feet were hanging out the window of a moving vehicle.
Denise Chiffon Berry, 44, was in the car with her son about 12:30 p.m., when the boy pointed out the funny sight of the man’s legs hanging out of a Cadillac.
The mother and son laughed, causing the driver of the Cadillac to follow them. Berry spotted a Hawthorne police cruiser, and pulled over next to the officer.
That is when the gunman shot the woman and her son numerous times, prompting officers to shoot the gunman.
Berry, who worked as a Metro bus driver, died of the gunshot wounds. The boy was hospitalized and is said to be in stable condition.
The driver and passenger of the Cadillac, 24, and 19, years old, were arrested.
