(Scroll down for video) A teenager died at a hospital after he fell off a roof while police chased him.
Police in New York, said that the teenager has died after falling from the roof of a six-story building in the Bronx, as police tried to arrest him.
The New York Police Department said that 17-year-old Hakeem Kuta, succumbed to injuries on Saturday, caused by the fall on Thursday night.
Police said that Kuta appeared to have misjudged a ledge while running away from the officers as they approached him.
Police were called to the 2600 block of Valentine Avenue in Fordham, on a complaint that teenagers were smoking marijuana in the lobby of a building.
When officers arrived, the teens ran up the stairs and onto the roof. Some teenagers were able to jump to another roof and escape from police.
However, when Kuta attempted to go over the wall, he misjudged it and fell over the ledge, plunging 6 stories before landing on the ground.
He was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
