(Scroll down for video) Police arrested a father after he forced his son to be his getaway driver after shooting someone.
The father of Albuquerque, New Mexico, had an argument with a customer at a gas station, and then pulled his gun and shot at the man.
Sergio Barrientos-Hinojosa then used his 13-year-old son as the getaway driver.
No one was injured, and Barrientos-Hinojosa was arrested Saturday night. Police said that Barrientos-Hinojosa was drunk when he asked his 13-year-old son to take him to buy beer at the gas station, where he had an argument and started shooting at another customer.
Police said that the father ordered his son to drive while he fired his gun in the air. He fired about 7 shots altogether.
Police were able to catch Barrientos-Hinojosa quickly as they had set up a checkpoint to spot drunk drivers. Barrientos-Hinojosa’s car sped past officers.
At first, the officer thought that he was shooting at them so they took cover. However, they soon followed the car and pulled it over.
Officers were surprised to find the 13-year-old boy driving the car with his father in the passenger seat.
Barrientos-Hinojosa is facing charges, including child abuse, as he fired the shots close to his son.
Police said that the 13-year-old boy will not face any charges.
