A woman is facing charges of animal cruelty for killing 5 goldfish.
Angela Garcia, 32, of Florida, faces a charge of animal abuse for allegedly killing her boyfriend’s goldfish by pouring bleach in the fish tank, according to court documents.
Garcia was arrested after she allegedly trashed the apartment of her boyfriend Norris Johnson of Orlando, after an argument.
Orange County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the house by a son of Johnson. He told investigators that his father ordered Garcia to leave the residence before he went to work.
However, rather than leaving the home, she destroyed a flat screen TV, electronics and furniture in the house, according to police.
The home reeked of bleach when the son of her boyfriend discovered the mess. Garcia caused about $1,500 in property damage. She also allegedly poured bleach in the fish tank, killing five goldfish.
Johnson’s son told deputies that Garcia was free on bail in another criminal case when his father allowed her to live with them for a couple of days.
Deputies later arrested Garcia near the scene, and reported that she was “visibly intoxicated” and “had bleach all over her clothes.”
Garcia was charged with felony counts of animal cruelty and criminal mischief. She was released after posting $1,150 bond.
