A man was arrested, charged and convicted of assault after ripping off a construction worker’s private parts during an argument about cement work, prosecutors in New Zealand said.

66-year-old Stephen John Docherty of Kawerau, pleaded guilty to wounding with intent when he appeared at the Whakatane District Court.

According to the police investigation, Docherty hired the victim to perform cement work on his property. When Docherty came home, he noticed another man working on his property.

Docherty demanded to know where the victim was, and was told by the contractor that he will return soon. The victim arrived and a discussion between him and Docherty became heated.

The men got in each other’s faces and exchanged words. Docherty said he was going to rip off the victim’s private parts. He then grabbed a steel hook and slammed at the victim’s private parts.

The victim’s pants and private parts were torn.

The victim required surgery. Docherty told police that he lost control of his temper in the heat of the moment.
