(Scroll down for video) A woman left her quadriplegic son to die in a wooded area in order to be able to visit her boyfriend in another state, police in Pennsylvania said.

41-year-old Nyia Parler, who abandoned her son near a park in Philadelphia last week, has been hospitalized in Maryland.

She will be arrested as soon as she is released from the hospital, police said. Parler is wanted on aggravated assault and other charges.

She was found in an apartment in Silver Spring, Maryland. Parler’s 21-year-old disabled son was found by a passerby on Friday night, laying on leaves and covered with blankets.

School officials and family members had been worried about him and reported him missing. He is unable to speak and has cerebral palsy.

He has been alone in the wooded area for more than five days. His mother went to Maryland, to visit a boyfriend. The victim was treated for dehydration at a hospital in Philadelphia.

The mother was found after her boyfriend called the police.
