A student died after he was viciously beaten by his teacher.
The teacher of India, was arrested after he was accused of beating an 11-year-old boy to death after he stole a pencil from another student.
Police arrested Lalit Verma for murdering the boy, who has was identified as Shiva. The boy attended the Dwarika Prasad School, when his teacher beat him after he found another student’s pencil and eraser in Shiva’s bag.
When Shiva came home from school, he began complaining of severe stomach pain and then began to vomit blood.
Paramedics rushed the boy to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police charged the teacher with manslaughter and they are continuing to investigate the incident.
Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine the official cause of death, but said that they believe the child died from internal bleeding caused by the teacher.
Verma, who has a reputation of using “extreme” punishment on students, has allegedly confessed to slapping the boy while questioning him over the pencil and an eraser, which were stolen from another student.
