(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on charges of possession of explosives after allegedly setting off an explosion in his own car, police in Massachusetts said.
Quincy Police said that they arrested 36-year-old Joseph Brennan Jr. of Norwell, after being accused of causing an explosion in his car.
He is being held without bail after investigators found bomb-making materials inside his vehicle. Brennan pleaded not guilty on Monday, to possession of an incendiary device.
Brennan was prosecuted in a hospital, where he was being treated for injuries caused by the explosion. Brennan told a passerby after the explosion that he was an idiot for lighting a cigarette with gunpowder in the front seat.
The State Police bomb squad unit searched two homes belonging to Brennan on Tuesday, where they found additional explosive devices.
