Police in Florida, were called after a taxi driver threw a tantrum at his company’s headquarters.

The driver was angry with the company and began throwing things around. Police were called, but the cab driver took off before police arrived.

An officer spotted the cab driver and pulled him over near Northwest 79th St., Miami police spokesman Sgt. Freddie Cruz said. The suspect opened fire on the officer.

The officer returned fire. An innocent passerby was hit by the gunfire and taken to a hospital.
The police officer was also injured. A good Samaritan came to the officer’s rescue and took him from the scene to the hospital.

The officer who was shot is a 28-year-old rookie. He was on the force for about eight months. He is married and has a young child.

As soon as the officer was removed from the scene, the suspect jumped into the police patrol car and drove off.

Police launched a massive manhunt for the suspect, and arrested him near an apartment complex.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was taken to a hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds.

In total, three people were killed and one arrest was made on Tuesday morning.

Police thanked the good Samaritan who came to the rescue of the officer. Police said that he will be honored at a commission meeting in the coming weeks.
