Police were called when 2 people became sick after eating brownies at the Office of the District Attorney.

Police in Alabama, said that 2 employees became ill from eating brownies that may have been laced with marijuana.

One of the people who ate the brownies, was a pregnant woman, while the other employee has a heart murmur, Baldwin County District Attorney Hallie Dixon said. At least one of them was hospitalized.

Authorities are investigating whether brownies given to the Baldwin County District Attorney on Tuesday, were laced with a drug.

A person who was employed as a temporary worker with the District Attorney’s Office, brought the brownies to work shortly before prosecutors were to begin a jury trial.

The worker denied knowledge of the brownies being laced with drugs.

A spokesperson for the DA’s Office said that the brownies are being tested and that so far, there is no conclusive evidence that they were laced with drugs.

The 2 affected employees have recovered.

Police are still investigating the incident. The person who brought the brownies to the DA’s Office could face charges.
