John Truong of Washington, called police after he realized that the baby who was brought to him by his sister for the night, was actually a kidnapped child.

Truong’s sister Alyssa Chang, brought the 2-year-old boy to his house and told him that the boy belonged to her boyfriend.

Truong and his wife agreed to care for the child. The next morning, while the child slept, Truong checked his Facebook account and learned that the child had been kidnapped and was the subject of an Amber Alert.

“It was like a scene out of a movie,” Truong said.

“I am eating my breakfast, I’m checking my Facebook, I suddenly see this Amber Alert for this child who is in my bed, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, what’s happening?’” Truong said.

After contacting police, Truong learned that the child and his mother had been abducted by Chang and the child’s paternal grandmother, Vien Nguyen.

Chang is in a relationship with the baby’s father.

The two women attacked the mother in her home in Des Moines, and tied her up. They drove the bound woman and child 20 miles to the town of Fife.

They left the woman in the garage and took the baby home. The baby’s mother managed to free herself and ran to a neighbor’s house for help.

After Truong called the police to report the baby, his sister and Nguyen were taken into custody.

Truong said that he believed that his sister wanted to help her boyfriend when she got into this mess.
