(Scroll down for video) A woman who was adopted as a baby, was searching for her birth mother only to find that she knew her mother for many years.

La-Sonya Mitchell-Clark of Youngstown, Ohio, always wanted to meet her birth mother. Her search ended in a surprising place, her business.

38-year-old Mitchell-Clark requested from the Ohio Department of Health, to release her birth records so that she can learn more about her biological family.

She learned that the name of her mother is Francine Simmons. She looked up her Facebook account and saw that she worked at InfoCision, the teleservices company where she works.

Mitchell-Clark knew of an employee by the name of Francine. She sent the woman a message and waited for a response.

The next day, she received a call from her coworker.

Simmons said that she always wanted to find her daughter, whom she gave up after she became pregnant at just 14 years old.

The mother and daughter live only 6 minutes from each other in Youngstown. Mitchell-Clark learned that she has three sisters and one of them works at InfoCision too.

She said that her adoptive parents have always been supportive of her, and encouraged her to try to find her birth mother.

“Now, we have a larger, extended family, where we can just be together,” Simmons said.
