A man was seriously injured after his wife decided to run him over with a car because he didn’t vote, prosecutors in Arizona said.
Now, the woman accused of running over her husband with an SUV because he did not vote in the presidential election, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault.
31-year-old Holly Nicole Solomon of Mesa, originally pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault and disorderly conduct charges.
According to the police investigation, Solomon was upset by the reelection of President Barack Obama, and started arguing with her husband when she learned that he did not vote.
Her husband suffered a broken pelvis. Solomon believed that her family would face difficulties because of the President Obama.
Solomon told police that she was trying to scare her husband and planned to stop the vehicle near him, but she accidentally stepped on the gas and hit him.
