Marissa Holcomb was robbed at gunpoint late last month, in an armed robbery at Popeyes in Channelview.
Holcomb, who is five months pregnant, said that she was fired for refusing to pay $400 that the robber took from the cash register.
According to the police investigation, the gunman entered the restaurant and demanded that employees lay down on the ground. Holcomb was grabbed by her shirt and was told to empty the safe.
Video shows the gunman jumping over the counter to get to the cash. Holcomb said that her employer demanded she repay the $400 that was stolen.
When she refused, she was fired. A spokesperson for Popeyes said that it is against company policy to have $400 in the register.
The spokesperson also denied Holcomb’s allegations. Holcomb said that she is pregnant with her fourth child.
