A man was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly punching a driver in the face because he parked badly, police in the United Arab Emirates said.

Dubai Police said that they have arrested the 24-year-old man identified as A. A., after being accused of assaulting the driver identified as 27-year old M.T., at the Dubai Marina.

Prosecutors said that the incident unfolded around 2:00 a.m., as A. A. was under the influence of alcohol. A.A. began hitting the car window and told the driver that he did not park the vehicle in a correct manner.

When M.T. stepped out of his car, A.A. punched him in the face. The driver was accompanied by his wife, who was identified as 24-year-old S.R., and she called the police.

A police officer who arrived at the scene, observed that M.T. was suffering from a nosebleed. There were also several bruises on his right cheek.

Police arrested the suspect who was hiding in a nearby building.

During questioning, A.A. told police that he asked M.T. why he had parked his car badly, and when he began screaming at him, he decided to punch him in the face.

A.A. was charged with assault and consuming alcohol without permission.
