The woman of Michigan, gave birth inside a bathroom at her office and then tried to conceal the delivery from her colleagues by hiding the baby.

25-year-old Kimberly Pappas placed her newborn son inside a plastic bag and inside her desk drawer.

She was arrested and charged with murder after a coworker found blood in the bathroom and called police.

Police revealed the gruesome details of the birth at the workplace during the arraignment. Pappas allegedly used scissors to cut the umbilical cord of her newborn son inside the toilet at her job before suffocating the baby.

Pappas placed the plastic bag with her baby in her drawer and then returned to work as if nothing happened.

Detective Kevin Crittenden said that the baby was still warm when rescue personnel found him. The suspect and child were transported to a hospital, where the boy was pronounced dead.

Pappas told authorities that she had a miscarriage, but an autopsy ruled the baby’s death a homicide. Medical examiners determined that the baby boy died from asphyxiation shortly after birth.

Under state law, parents are allowed to surrender their newborns anonymously to the authorities within 72 hours of birth.
