(Scroll down for video) A mother was devastated over the loss of her young daughter who was killed by a female driver.
However, rather than being angry with the woman, the mother forgave the driver and the two became close friends.
Cassie Miller and Brynn Johnson knew each other for some time before the tragedy occurred.
Miller was doing carpool when she went to the home of Johnson, to pick up her son to drive him to preschool in Tenino, Washington.
When Miller backed out of the driveway, she accidentally ran over 17-month-old Rowyn Johnson, who was killed.
Incredibly however, Brynn Johnson forgave Miller after recognizing that what happened was a horrible accident.
“It’s a hard thing to accept and difficult to swallow, but we both blame ourselves rather than the other for what happened,” Brynn Johnson said.
The two women helped each other through the tragedy.
In order to cope with their pain, they started a charity initiative called Raise for Rowyn, which raises money for families who have experienced child tragedies.
The women also planted a memorial garden at Johnsons’ home where little Rowyn loved to play.
