(Scroll down for video) A large group of people were searching for a teenage boy who went missing during school.
17-year-old Connor Sullivan of Northern California, eluded more than 200 volunteers who searched for him for days without success.
Oddly enough, after missing for 3 days, he just walked into his home unharmed. Police said that Sullivan picked fruit from the trees and drank water from fountains on and around school campus.
Sullivan was hiding on the Monta Vista High School campus in Cupertino, where he was last seen at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, said Sgt. James Jensen of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
He slept under the bleachers of the school, ate fruit from trees around school and used portable toilets.
He did all that while volunteers searched the campus and surrounding neighborhoods until 9:00 p.m.
“He did not want to be found,” Jensen said. So far, it is unclear why the teenager ran away and hid for 3 days.
Connor’s parents, Jeff and Jill, released a statement which read in part: “Over the next few weeks we will work on the how and especially the why of his disappearance.
“We can tell everyone that Connor has expressed the deepest sorrow and regret for his actions. He sees how his actions have impacted others around him and understands there is no excuse for the concern and worry he has caused.”
They also thanked friends, family and volunteers who supported them through this difficult time.
