A man was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly using pliers to pull out teeth of unsuspecting women, police in New Zealand said.

Wellington Police said that a woman complained that she thought her boyfriend was going to kiss her when he suddenly brandished pliers and pulled out one of her teeth.

56-year-old Philip Lyle Hansen pleaded not guilty to 11 charges, including unlawful sexual contact. He was also charged with wounding with intent to injure four women.

The Wellington District Court heard that Hansen extracted teeth with pliers and tried to remove the teeth of one woman with a screwdriver.

One woman said that Hansen pulled out one of her teeth with pliers while they were having sex in the backseat of a car. The woman said that she heard her tooth cracking.

The tooth came out and he just threw it out the window. He told the woman that he had done her a favor by saving her a trip to the dentist.

The woman said Hansen pulled out another tooth when they were in the house of a friend. Hansen had wanted to have sex, but she felt uncomfortable doing it in the friend’s house.

When he put his arms around her, he pulled out a tooth with pliers. Three other women have testified against Hansen, and they said that he liked women without teeth.
