A school principal was arrested on charges of stalking after allegedly following a woman into her apartment because she was his type, police in Japan said.
The Tokyo Police Department said that they arrested 59-year-old Koji Kijima, after being accused of following the woman for some time and forcing himself into her home.
Kijima, who is the principal of the Komagata Junior High School in Taito Ward, followed the 20-year-old woman after spotting her at a nearby train station around 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
As soon as the woman entered her apartment, Kijima pushed open the door before she had a chance to lock it. The woman screamed and a passerby came to the entrance of the apartment and detained Kijima.
The woman said that she had never met Kijima. During questioning, Kijima told that he was drunk and followed the woman because she was his type.
