(Scroll down for video) Parents in Tennessee, are criticizing a school for serving their kids meat that expired 6 years ago.
The meat was allegedly given to schools in Hawkins County last week.
The county commissioner was alerted after a cafeteria worker sent him a picture of pork that expired in 2009. The 6-year-old meat had been frozen and was thawed before being given to the students.
The photo was taken at Joseph Rogers Primary School, where the staff decided not to serve the meat. However, the pork was served at other schools.
At the Cherokee Comprehensive High School, the pork was served to students. In order to take away the bad smell, the chef poured gravy over the meat.
School officials claim that frozen meat never goes bad even after many years. So far, no one has become ill due to the expired meat.
