A teenager pleaded guilty to raping his cousin while stabbing her to death.

Joshua Keyzer of Allegan County, Michigan, admitted that he killed his cousin, 21-year-old Kassandra Keyzer, in his grandmother’s basement.

Kassandra Keyzer, who is a mother of a 2 year-old boy, was set to marry her fiance, Robert Johnson.

Joshua Keyzer also wounded his grandmother, Sharon Keyzer, 67. He cut her throat, but she survived the attack. She died five months later of cancer.

After undergoing two court-ordered psychiatric evaluations, Joshua Keyzer was found competent to stand trial.

During his court hearing, he did not offer a motive for his murderous actions.

Joshua Keyzer, who is now 16 years old, pleaded guilty to felony murder and attempted sexual conduct as part of plea deal to spare him from a life sentence without parole.

Joshua Keyzer faces up to 60 years in prison.
