A drunk woman froze to death after being unable to climb over a tall school fence, a court in the United Kingdom heard.
23-year-old Charlotte Christodoulou of Shrewsbury, and her boyfriend went into Harlescott Junior School, in order to take a shortcut to their home.
The boyfriend managed to climb over a 10-foot fence, but Christodoulou was unable to do so because she was drunk and under the influence of drugs.
Christodoulou died of hypothermia. Her boyfriend was identified as Lloyd Butler. West Mercia Police said that Butler was seen on surveillance video leaving the school grounds around 8:00 p.m.
Christodoulou was disoriented and could not find her way in the cold and darkness. She only wore thin clothes in the freezing weather.
Dr. Alexander Kolar told the court that she most likely died in the early hours of the morning. Three people were initially arrested on suspicion of her murder, but were released without charge.
