(Scroll down for video) Two KFC restaurant workers were caught on video washing chickens on a concrete floor outside the store.

The video was recorded in South Africa, and it was posted to Facebook by Mfumo Bamuza. the video has since gone viral.

KFC bosses have apologized after the workers were seen washing chicken on the floor behind one of its restaurants.

The video shows two workers throwing chicken on the floor and hosing it down in Braamfontein.

KFC Africa Managing Director Doug Smart said that the chicken was meant to be discarded.

“The franchisee of the Braamfontein restaurant places a significant focus on waste management and implemented a policy four weeks ago outlining that chicken in need to be discarded should be placed in the freezer so that it can later be collected and counted in order to assess how much has been wasted,” Smart said.

On the day of the incident, the team members accidentally breaded chicken, which was meant to be discarded so they washed the breading off to avoid getting into trouble for not following the correct process and unnecessarily wasting breading.
