A boy was arrested on charges of mischief after allegedly smashing up his home with a hammer because his father took away his PlayStation, police in Canada said.

Brantford Police said that they have arrested the 13-year-old boy after he went on a rampage with a hammer and a baseball bat at his home on Saturday night.

He is accused of mischief under $5,000 and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He is being held in custody for a bail hearing.

Police said that the boy’s father called them around 7:30 p.m., to report that his son was out of control. He was locked out of the house by his parents, who feared for their safety.

The boy tried to regain entry to the house by smashing the doors and locks. Officers who arrived at the scene, arrested the boy without incident.

According to the police investigation, the boy argued with his parents and sibling about using a PlayStation 4 gaming system. When the father decided to take it away as punishment, the boy became angry and used a baseball bat to break property.
