A man of the United Kingdom was arrested and charged of causing death by dangerous driving after killing a couple.
15 children were left orphaned after Mobein Ali, hit and killed a couple with his car just days after losing his driver’s license.
The father of 10 children Michael Ward, 45, and his girlfriend, Paula Jolly, 37, who is a mother to 5 children, died after being hit by a Vauxhall Corsa driven by Ali.
Ward is the father of Mike Ward, who was a finalist on the 2013 series of BBC talent show The Voice.
The couple was crossing the road outside Asda in Hulme, Manchester, shortly after 10:00 p.m. when they were killed.
20-year-old Ali was banned from driving after his license was revoked for accumulating six points.
Ali told the court that he was very sorry for what happened. “I can ensure that this never happens again,” he said.
According to the law, drivers who accumulate six penalty points in the first two years of obtaining their license are subject to having it automatically revoked.
Shortly after pleading guilty to causing the death of Ward and Jolly, Ali told the court he did not know that he was not able to drive because he had not received a letter from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), notifying him that his license was revoked.
He claimed that he was also unaware of his invalid insurance.
He is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to the charges.
