A husband was arrested on charges of attempted murder after his wife’s parachute failed to open during skydiving, police in the United Kingdom said.

39-year-old Victoria Cilliers fell 4,000 feet before hitting the ground after her main parachute failed to open.

Luckily, she survived with the help of her reserve parachute, which partly opened and slowed her descent. Police have arrested her husband on suspicion of attempted murder.

Cilliers of Wilshire, suffered multiple fractures in her body, including a broken collarbone, a broken leg and spinal injuries. Cilliers and her husband are experienced skydivers, and both are members of the U.K. Army Parachute Association.

Emile Cilliers, 35, is a sergeant in the British Army. The couple got married in 2011. They have not been living together.
