Officer Emil Lugo of Miami-Dade, Florida, was arrested after he was caught on surveillance video stealing gasoline.

The gas from those pumps are paid by taxpayers and is intended for the use of police cruisers only.

However, Lugo used the gas to fill up his wife’s luxury car.

Lugo was charged with one count of fraud and five counts of petty theft for stealing the fuel. Police began investigating Lugo, when they realized that he was using too much fuel.

The video which was released by police, shows the 16-year veteran filling up gas cans and placing it into his patrol car. He then headed home, removed the gas cans and filled up his wife’s BMW.

A Ferrari was on his property, police said.

Lugo was arrested on Friday and bail was set at $10,000. He was also placed on paid administrative leave. Records show Lugo eared $130,000 last year.
